Fishwife

Sorry I have been so MIA the last week, my cousin passed away and I was feeling a bit melancholy because it reminded me so much of the death of my brother (1.5 years ago) and father (11 years ago).    It was just hard to motivate myself to blog about nails.

But I'm feeling better now and back, so today I have a GORGEOUS polish for you, Butter London Fishwife.  This is a pale green holographic polish that applied like a dream in only 2 coats!

I was in LOVE with this polish.

Look at that holo goodness!!!!

GUH!

SWOON!

My Nutcracker is Bruised

Today I have a gorgeous polish to share - Enchanted Polish Bruised Nutcracker.  This is a slate blue polish packed full of holographic particles.

The only issue I had is the same I have with most of my Enchanteds, they are thin and as  such they pool in my cuticles making clean up less than fun.  ARGH.  The only one I didn't have this problem with was Sour Patch Kid (soon to come here).  But, they are just so darn pretty I put up with it for the gorgeous.

I tried my best to capture the holo goodness.

Enchanted Polish can be purchased at her website.  May the force be with you trying to get something out of one of her restocks!

Avalon has a Polka Dot Party!

I started off with two coats of aEngland Avalon.  I'm so enthralled with aEngland and how perfect the formula is.  Truly,  it is one of the best polish lines I've ever used.  She needs to make more.  So many more!

Avalon is a royal purple polish that has pink and purple shimmer to it.  A complete knock out!

Then for fun, I added Amy's Nail Boutique Polka Dot Party over top, which has teal and fuchsia circle glitter with white glitter thrown in as well.

My nails were having a party!

Eurso Violated

Today I have a pretty pair, I started off with two coats of OPI Eurso Euro from the Euro-Centrale collection.  This is a gorgeous creme with great coverage, I was very impressed by it.

Then I did an accent nail of Glitzology Violate, one coat was chocked full of glitter!   Violate was named in honor of Violet/Tate from American Horror Story, which is one of my favorite shoes, so I knew I was going to have to snatch it up!

Ashberry Freeze is Anti-Bleak

Today I have another great pairing, OPI Anti-Bleak, from the Mariah Carey  collection, a bright purple creme that goes on easily in two coats.  As with the vast majority of my OPIs it went on cleanly and was easy to control.

Then I added one coat of Lacquistry Ashberry Freeze.  This was a polish from her winter collection, but I feel it is still fun for spring (or any time of year)!  Ashberry has a collection of small micro-glitters that combine to be fantastic on the nail!    As always I feel the need to shout out that Jenna from Lacquistry has the best customer service, so purchase without fear!  She is a great businesswoman who stands behind her product.

I really liked this combo!

So what color is on your nails today?

Lacquistry can be purchased at her Etsy Store.

Dayflower soars with Blue Rouge

This mani was one of those that when it comes together, you can't stop staring at your nails.

I started off with Priti Dayflower, a soft cornflower blue with a crelly finish.  It was still showing off a visible nail line to some extent at 2 coats, but I knew I'd be topping it.  Such a pure, soft color.  I was very impressed with the finish, application and consistancy of this polish!  A shout out goes to Sarah at My Lacquer Family for recommending this brand to me!

Then I topped it with Lynnderella Blue Rouge.  WOW.   The color blend in this polish is like nothing else I own, a periwinkle and purple explosion of gorgeous on the nail.   This polish, in my opinion, was the crown jewel of the Groundhog collection of polishes, simply magnificent.  Also easy application and good consistency of the polish.

This manicure was so amazing that the sales lady at Ulta stopped me and asked me where she could get it because she had never seen anything like it.

So I think this combo was entirely full of W-I-N.

Ziv is behind the Fall of Atlanta

Today I am featuring a custom polish that Amy's Nail Boutique made for my friend Sarah at My Lacquer Family that I fell in love with, so I contacted Amy to see if she could make me a set as well and she did!

This is the Fall of Atlanta, various red and orange glitters reminiscent of fire.  I wanted to use the amazing Zoya Ziv to really provide a huzzah background for the Fall of Atlanta.

I love the texture of Ziv, it is such a unique polish to work with.  I thought the pair worked well together.

Grape Set Match Under Ibiza Mix

Today I have OPI Grape Set Match, a shimmer in somewhat of a jelly base.  It was a bit sheer going on the nail even after 2 coats, so I knew I'd need a topper as you know I'm not a fan of a visible nail line.

I topped it with Models Own Ibiza Mix, a multi-colored hex glitter.  It applied evenly in one coat, but this just wasn't a pairing I was in love with.  I've heard Nicole by OPI Khloe Had a Little Lam Lam is a great underwear for Ibiza, I'll try that next time.

First Class Ticket to Awesome

Today I have a stunning polish for you from Amy's Nail Boutique - First Class.  First class is a deep blue/black polish with scattered holographic bits.

I used 2 coats for full coverage in the photos below.  I was very pleased with the application of this polish I thought it went on cleanly and was easy to control.  The holo was very nice as well.

Yet another example of why Amy's is one of my favorite indie brands!!!

Green Ceramic Effect

Today I have another one of Layla's Ceramic Effects, CE-54.

This is a green jelly base with glitters.  You see two coats on the nail.  I thought this was very thick and hard to get good coverage with it.  Perhaps it was user error.  I suppose I should have layered it over another green polish.  I think it has a lot of potential to be pretty, but it just wasn't my favorite.  I couldn't do any more layers because it was so thick.

Meh, they can't all be winners!

Honey Blue Blue

Today I have a great polish from Jindie Nails, Honey Blue Blue.  This is a light blue base with green and blue multi-sized glitters in it.  You see two coats on the nail below.

Plus, any polish that pokes fun at the horror show that is Honey Boo Boo gets extra points from me.

I was very impressed with the coverage of this polish.  I think getting a great creme based glitter that doesn't need to be layered is hard to do and very few have been able to do it well (even commercial brands).  A two coater that is this opaque?  Awesome!

I think the glitter had great spread on the nail and there was really no effort involved in getting a great manicure.

If you don't already have any Jindies, I encourage you to check them out!

Jindie nails can be purchased at Llarowe and Ninja Polish.

Over the Moon

I'll just start out by saying these Color Club holos are bananas.  They have such a strong holographic bling that it is nearly blinding.  All of this for $2.00 in a beauty supply store?  Are you kidding me?  WINNING.

This is two coats of Over the Moon, a beautiful soft blue.

Formula?  Perfect, easy to apply, easy to control.

Wear time?  Great, I had this on without chipping until I changed my manicure three days later.

Wow factor?  Off the charts.

Run, do not walk, to get yourself some of the Color Club Holos.  You will NOT be disappointed.

Marion and Harper - a perfect match

Today I have two Juleps that were made for each other - Julep Marion is a beautiful teal shimmery polish that had perfect application on the nail.  You see two thin coats here.  For an accent, I added one coat of Harper over top the ring finger.

I loved this manicure, the accent gave it a pop of fun and the colors were both gorgeous.  I loved the shimmer in Marion and the flecks in Harper.  This combo was just perfection!

Sweet Talk

This is Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk, a white base with multi colored pastel glitter.  It was part of their Valentine's Collection.  You see two coats on the nail below.

I thought this went on very cleanly and had good coverage with two thick coats.  It was easy to spread the glitters on the nail and it went from bottle to brush easily.

Another great one by Rainbow Honey, perfect for a soft spring understated mani that still has plenty of zing.

You can purchase Rainbow Honey at their online store.
