Honey Blue Blue

Today I have a great polish from Jindie Nails, Honey Blue Blue.  This is a light blue base with green and blue multi-sized glitters in it.  You see two coats on the nail below.

Plus, any polish that pokes fun at the horror show that is Honey Boo Boo gets extra points from me.

I was very impressed with the coverage of this polish.  I think getting a great creme based glitter that doesn't need to be layered is hard to do and very few have been able to do it well (even commercial brands).  A two coater that is this opaque?  Awesome!

I think the glitter had great spread on the nail and there was really no effort involved in getting a great manicure.

Over the Moon

I'll just start out by saying these Color Club holos are bananas.  They have such a strong holographic bling that it is nearly blinding.  All of this for $2.00 in a beauty supply store?  Are you kidding me?  WINNING.

This is two coats of Over the Moon, a beautiful soft blue.

Formula?  Perfect, easy to apply, easy to control.

Wear time?  Great, I had this on without chipping until I changed my manicure three days later.

Wow factor?  Off the charts.

Run, do not walk, to get yourself some of the Color Club Holos.  You will NOT be disappointed.

Marion and Harper - a perfect match

Today I have two Juleps that were made for each other - Julep Marion is a beautiful teal shimmery polish that had perfect application on the nail.  You see two thin coats here.  For an accent, I added one coat of Harper over top the ring finger.

I loved this manicure, the accent gave it a pop of fun and the colors were both gorgeous.  I loved the shimmer in Marion and the flecks in Harper.  This combo was just perfection!

Sweet Talk

This is Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk, a white base with multi colored pastel glitter.  It was part of their Valentine's Collection.  You see two coats on the nail below.

I thought this went on very cleanly and had good coverage with two thick coats.  It was easy to spread the glitters on the nail and it went from bottle to brush easily.

Another great one by Rainbow Honey, perfect for a soft spring understated mani that still has plenty of zing.

Eternal Beauty is a Shapeshifter

I have another one of Color Clubs magnificent holographic polishes - Eternal Beauty, a purple base with a bananas holographic effect.  Then, for an accent, I added one coat of Lynnderella Shape Shifter to my ring finger.  I loved the combo of these two.  I think they really came together.

The amount of glitter in Shape Shifter is nuts, especially when paired with the holographic effect of Eternal Beauty!

Marrow Under The Purple Festival of Lights

I have another one of my favorite pairings, butter London Marrow, a beautiful shimmery soft purple with Amy's Nail Boutique Festival of Lights Purple over top.

I started off with 2 coats of Marrow, I really loved the formula on this, it was very easy to control on the nail.    I tried to capture how it looks under different lights as well.

Then I topped it off with one coat of perfection - Amy's Festival of Lights Purple.  The holo on this was bananas and these two worked so perfectly together.

As I'm sure you know by now, I love Amy's polishes so much!  This one is surely one of the crown jewels in my collection though!

The Butterfly Effect is Plugged In

Well, folks, this is it, I have found my perfect purple.  OPI Plugged in Plum.  I LOVE this shade.  I love everything about it.  The way it pops, the way it shimmers, the way it looks on my skin.  I want to hug it and scream "my preccciiiooooussss" every time I see it in my melmer drawers.

As with most of my OPIs it also went on perfectly.  Very little need to clean up (and believe me, I paint like a 4 year old sometimes).  It was the perfect consistency and I just loved it to bits.

Look at that sparkle!  The depths of the colors.  Winning people, winning!

Then I did something dumb and attempted to put my house key on the ring after I took my car for service.  DUMB girl.  I mean next time I'll let them break into my house versus messing up a great mani!

So I put Layla Ceramic Effect CE 52 - The Butterfly Effect - on top.  This is pretty and in the light it did catch some great flashes.  In all honesty, I preferred the OPI by itself.  This didn't WOW me.  I mean it really should have looking at the photos, but it didn't.  I found the formula on these Laylas to be VERY thick.  Luckily, the jelly base helped it to clean up easy, but argh.

Leprechaun Lynch

Today I have a new brand (for me), Scotch Naturals Leprechaun Lynch.  In this bottle this seems like it will be a creamy mint green, but it is extremely sheer on the nail.  So sheer that after 3 coats it was sheer as can be.  So I went back to the drawing board and started off with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (I really need to get a backup bottle of this, it has become my go-to white base).  Then I started putting Leprechaun Lynch over top.  I still needed 3 coats to get what you see below!

ARGH

Then, because it was too much, it just smudged near instantly because it took so long to dry.

So, farewell, Scotch Naturals.  I will not be pulling you out again.  Maybe as an overlay on a polish to give it shimmer.  MAYBE.   It does have a nice shimmer.

Cuckoo for OPI

Today I have OPI Cuckoo for this Color, a gorgeous shimmery teal.  It applied perfectly and was easy to control.  This is one of the best OPIs in my arsenal as far as stand alone beauty (that isn't a DS holo!).
