Everything But the Kitchen Sink

As I was going through my photos last night, I found a bunch of photos that I never got around to posting for whatever reason, so I decided to throw them all in one post since I wanted to share them, but not all of them are seasonally appropriate.  lol.

So here is everything but the kitchen sink!

This is OPI I'm Dating a Royal.  I have NO earthly idea what that texture is on my nails.  I assume I took this the next day or something?  It didn't look like that until the photo.  But, as you can see, great finish and great color, user error on my part.

Darling Diva Polish - Christmas Story 2012.  WOWZERS.  I avoided most "Christmas" red and greed polishes because I figured outside of two weeks in December, I wouldn't wear them.  This was my one exception.  Red and green holo goodenss.  LOVE.  But it is obviously Christmassy, so kitchen sink post it goes.   I layered this over a England Camelot, one of the best blacks in creation!

 Dollish Polish I'm the Boogie Man - this was one of her Halloween Polishes, this is two coats, no undies.  I didn't think I was going to love this one, but I really did.  I think this could work in springtime as well because it is shimmery and pastel, it doesn't scream Halloween to me.

Manglaze Matte is Murder with F4 Nightmare Forest over top.  Manglaze makes, hands down, the BEST matte polishes ever.  If you don't own them?  You need to.  You need to run right out and get yourself one.  They are all magnificent.  They also make fun layering polishes because they impart a really cool shimmer underneath the polish.   Nightmare Forest was great, but obviously VERY Halloween.  

Manglaze  Fatty's Got More Blood with Candy Lacquer Vampire's Kiss.  Again, Manglaze love from me.  Buy some.  Now.  Stop reading and buy buy buy buy!  (I will always be the devil on your shoulder convincing you to buy stuff, always).  Vampire's Kiss was one of my better Candy Lacquer formulas, my others tend to be very thick, but this was just right.  It doesn't scream Halloween to me either!  I managed to get two hearts on the same nail too!

Green Goblin Feels Froggy

In keeping with the Halloween theme, I have another Halloween colored mani today.

I started off with 2 coats of Cult Nails Feeling Froggy, a beautiful green with lots of shimmer.  If you haven't purchased any Cult Nails, stop right now and go buy them!  I have quite a few of their polishes and I've NEVER been disappointed.  The formula is rich and easy to control, the color choices are unique and the wear time is outstanding.  I love supporting a great small business and I wish them all of the continued success in the world!

Then I sponged a bit of F4 Green Goblin on the tips.  F4 is another one of my favorite indie polishes.  They have a great formula and fantastic customer service.  They always have a great stock of items in their Etsy store.  As always the glitters were easy to get from bottle to nail and it applied easily and cleanly.  Go get F4 polishes!

Rumplestiltzkin does some Hocus Pocus

Today's post is the amazing OPI Rumples Wiggin from the Shrek collection.  A friend found this at her local CVS and was nice enough to buy it for me and ship it.  I love this purple creme!  You see two coats below.  Applies perfectly with great coverage.

Then I put two coats of F4 Hocus Pocus.  I scored the entire set of their Halloween line and I loved the color spread on this one, black and purple mini-hexes with larger green hexes thrown in.  The coverage was perfect and as with all of my F4 polishes, applied perfectly and had great wear time.  

Rumples Wiggin by itself.  (excuse the cuticles, my son was ill so I was washing my hands near constantly).

Hocus Pocus on top.  Such a fun polish!

Let's Go Terps!

GAH!  So sorry for my absence, I've been in the throws of back to school events for both kiddos.  My boys are in 4th grade and Kindergarten!

This week their schedules (and mine) are back to normal, which means blogging should be as well.

Today I have an insanely awesome custom polish from F4 to share with you.

As a University of Maryland College Park alumna and season ticket holder for football and basketball, I needed a polish to show off my Maryland Pride.

Last year Under Armour designed a series of uniforms to highlight the Maryland State Flag, seen below.

Our flag is based on two families coat of arms, the Calvert (Black and Gold) and Crossland (Red and White) families.

The geniuses at UA decided to base an entire uniform on this flag.  Then had the vision to put that on the team during the ESPN opening game.  The result?  MD fans everywhere went gonzo for this beauty.  Across the country most blanched at the tackitasticness of it, but us Marylanders?  We loved it.

These are two sides to the same uniform.  We fell in love.

Needless to say there aren't a lot of red/white/black/gold polishes out there.  A few, yes, but the ones I've found had hearts or diamonds in them.  Then, of course, there is the issue of what to layer it over.

So I went to the amazing ladies at F4 to make my precious, I didn't know if they did customs, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.  I told them I wanted a red/white/gold glitter polish in a clear base to wear over black to wear to wear at the games.  I sent them the MD flag for inspiration.   Because they are the epitome of awesome, they created it for me.  They named it "Maryland Pride".

It has small white square glitter, medium gold hex glitter and large red hex glitter.  Over black it just comes ALIVE!  I couldn't be more thrilled.

Okay, enough talking, photo time:

GAH, I just love it.  I put on one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore and then ONE coat of Maryland Pride.  There is some weird reflections going on in these photos, it was NOT bumpy, it was the way the, it was the best I could get on the way out the door to the game.  On my ring finger I have that stupid ridge that I got back in June at Disney World.  I can't wait to grow this thing out!

To show you how awesome their color matching was, I took a photo on each side of my son's MD pride shirt - here is the black/gold side (this was taken indoors so pardon the lighting, the boy wouldn't move outside and the shirt was on him, little stinker!):

Simply perfection!  I even had the lady next to me and her daughters ask me where they could get it because they loved it!

Does this Underwear Clash with my Melons?

Today I have a gorgeous polish that is F4 Summer Melon, a beautiful glitter top coat that has pink, green, black hex and small microglitter.

I made the mistake of putting it over the wrong underwear.  On the nail wheel, it seemed a perfect match, on my nails?  Not so much.  The green is too close to the green in the glitter and it didn't give it the punch I was looking for.

I love Summer Melon, I'll be on the lookout for the right panties to pair with this!

I started off with 2 coats of Sinful Exotic Green, a sheer green jelly polish that has a fantastic shine.  Then I put one coat of F4 Summer Melon.  I topped it with one coat of Seche and one coat of Nails, Inc Kensington Caviar top coats to give it a smooth finish.

I found that Summer Melon, much like EVERY F4 polish, glides on like a dream.  I love the little punch the black hex glitter gives it much like a watermelon seed.  This polish is a stunner.  These polish makers are FABULOUS!  I own a ton of their polish and not a single one has disappointed me!  I highly encourage you to check them out!

Lesbihonest under the Mirrorball

Today I have a bucket full of awesome for you.

I started off with 2 coats of ManGlaze Lesbihonest.  A matte fuschia that is crazy perfection.  Goes on like a dream and has that perfect matte finish that ManGlaze is known for.  The best thing about the two ManGlaze polishes I have is that they look fabulous either matte or with a top coat.  Their formula is fantastic.  Plus their names and bottle art are just so full of win they deserve to be owned!

To give it a bit of bling, I decided to put F4 Polish Mirrorball on the tips (and one full nail accent finger).  I dabbed it onto the tips to get such dense coverage.  This polish goes on like a dream and it truly is like you have mirrors on your fingers.   The glitters lay down perfectly on the nail. I topped just the Mirrorball with SV because otherwise it was too scratchy, but two coats of SV made it nice and smooth.   I loved the contrast between the matte and the shiny, which is why I only coated the tips.  You can see the SV line in the photos (and it looks choppy of course), but in real life, you can't see it.

I've also found this helps immensely with tip wear!    

I love this mani.  I need more ManGlaze in my life.   A gal can't go wrong with too much ManGlaze. I have Santorum, but I think I need Fuck Off & Dye, Mink Mitten and Nawsome Sauce as well.   Don't even get me started on how many I need from F4, their polishes are phenomenal!  I really have to say I highly recommend both sellers in regards to quick shipping times and great customer service. 

Photos!  (I really feel these don't even do it justice and I took like 2342343 photos trying to capture it, but this was the best I could do).  That ridge in my ring finger is not a polish goof, I gouged my nail in Disney and the matte brings out the imperfection in the nail.  I'm just impatiently waiting for it to grow out!
